Cameco Corp. suspended uranium shipments by truck from its mines in northern Saskatchewan because of forest fires raging in the Canadian province.
The fires haven’t affected uranium mining or Cameco’s ability to supply its customers, Gord Struthers, a spokesman for Saskatoon, Saskatchewan-based Cameco, said Thursday in a phone interview.
Cameco suspended the shipments more than a week ago when travel restrictions were imposed on some northern roads because of the fires and reduced visibility, Struthers said.
